Walailak University held Fun Run activity in the 21st IMT-GT Varsity Carnival – The 21st IMT-GT Varsity Carnival WU

On 26th August 2019 ,Walailak University as a host of the 21st IMT-GT Varsity Carnival conducted 4 km Fun Run activity and this activity was joining by students staff and lecturers from Indonesia , Malaysia and Thailand about 1000 participants . Prof. Dr.Sombat Thamrungthanyawong ,Chancellor of Walailak University also came to give an opening ceremony speech and gave a start signal for all runners at starting point which was in front of Thaiburi Building.

He also said that the objectives of the 21st IMT-GT Varsity Carnival is to constantly promote collaboration activities to develop human resources closer relationship among the neighboring countries .The varsity council has therefore come up with various kinds of event such as sports , art and culture , cultural performance , academic seminar , and tourism in the community to exchange and strengthen our relationship which benefit students and staff all twelve member universities.

However , sport development is one of the key features of the Varsity Council’s objective, Walailak University as a host was very pleased to organized FUN RUN to promote people’s good health and spirit.He was very sure that running around our green campus, beautiful atmosphere, and along Walailak University Garden which is the biggest university park in Thailand ,would be very pleasant for them. He also would like to thank you for all staff for their contribution to make this successful.

This Fun Run started from area in front of Thaiburi hall long to Walailak Garden and turned back at in front of Thaiburi hall for finishing point. The length of this activity was about 4 km. and for the first men finisher was Mr.Culfan Fahmil from Medan Universitas syiah Kuala Acheh-Indonesia and the first woman finisher was Miss Chutima Srimoktam students from Walailak University , fourth year student from School of Allied Health Science .Then . Prof. Dr.Sombat Thamrungthanyawong ,Chancellor of Walailak University gave the medals for all finishers.

Walailak University held Fun Run activity in the 21st IMT-GT Varsity Carnival and this activity was joining by delegates from Indonesia Malaysia and Thailand.
